Kraj Vysočina se nachází na pomezí Čech a Moravy, krajským městem je Jihlava. Jen 12 km od Jihlavy najdete malé příměstské středisko Luka nad Jihlavou. V blanenském okrese potom pět lyžařských vleků provozuje středisko vhodné pro rodiny s dětmi, Olešnice na Moravě.
Centrem běžeckého lyžování v regionu je jednoznačně Nové Město na Moravě, kde najdete moderní biatlonový areál Vysočina Arena. Pokud se v areálu zrovna nekonají závody nebo tréninky profesionálů, je otevřen pro širokou veřejnost.
