The ski areas Kitzsteinhorn, Schittenhöhe, and Maiskogel in the region Zell am See – Kaprun offer lots of very well-groomed slopes for all levels of difficulty. If you prefer a board to skis, you also find lots of interesting offers for snowboarders. The Mellow Park at the Kitzsteinhorn on an altitude of over 3000 m has a large area at it’s disposal. Close to the top station Sonnenkarbahn is a half-pipe. The Schittenhöhe and the Maiskogel also have slopes suitable for snowboarders. The region’s hinterland is not only popular amongst snowboarders with it’s enticing mix of steep slopes and smooth hills. Free-riders feel right at home for example on the Magnetköple-Route. The almost deserted pistes and the lush deep snow are certainly good criteria for spending your winter vacation in Zell am See – Kaprun.
